Beängstigend, mit welchem Tempo James Fitzpatrick diese aufwändigen CD-Produktionen managed. Ich bin gerade einmal mit Taras Bulba halbwegs durch und schon steht schon der nächste Koloss in der Tür und verlangt Einlass. Ein Muss in jedem Fall ...

Einer meiner absoluten Holy Grail-Titel. O Mann, ich kann es kaum abwarten! Jetzt bin ich mal gespannt, wie und wann Lalaland die Original-Version veröffentlichen wird. Ich werde auf jeden Fall beide Alben kaufen! Auf das Main Title bin ich ganz besonders gespannt, wie die Prager das hingekriegt haben.

Die CD kam diese Woche aus England an, aus privaten Gründen habe ich aber heute erst reingehört. Klasse! Perfekte Einspielung, perfekter Klang. Cover naja, das Booklet ist allerdings hochinformativ mit kompletten Beschreibungen zu allen Tracks und diesmal sogar mit ein paar Filmfotos. Wäre extrem schade, wenn Tadlow mit solch absolut hochkarätigen Einspielungen aufhört!

Heute im zweiten Durchlauf an einem halbwegs entspannten Sonntag. Wenn ich die fantastische Musik und die fantastische Einspielung höre und mir dann James Fitzpatricks aktuellen Kommentar im FSM-Board zur Zukunft von Tadlow in Erinnerung rufe, macht mich das noch trauriger, als ich ohnehin schon bin.

As I said a few years ago, but got berated in some quarters, the flooding of the market wiith far too many CD releases will actually bring about the death of the CD and the collectors market.

CDs have now become too dispensible.

And, as I said a couple of weeks ago, I am sure that CONAN THE DESTROYER and QUO VADIS will probably mark the last new recordings of classic scores that I am involved in. I have had a good run with the recordings done for Tadlow and Prometheus but, having just done my end of year accounts, my financial supervisor has said "enough of losing a £50,000 to £75,000 ever year" and wasting the money on recordings that not enough people really want.

It has been a great 10 years with Tadlow ... but time to move on
