Interessante Pressemitteilung von SAE:

Screen Archives Entertainment moves forward with more DVD titles,

more CD exclusives, more private label releases and more service improvements

Linden, Virginia (October 3, 2011 ) — Now celebrating over 35 years in business, Screen Archives Entertainment (SAE) announces it will greatly increase its DVD titles, has landed even more exclusive distribution deals with CD labels, and will be increasing the frequency of new releases from its own private labels. Additionally, extensive improvements to the SAE website and inventory system will offer even better and faster customer service.

Despite the current economy, business is booming at SAE, which is the nation's largest distributor of movie soundtrack CDs and related merchandise, leading to this expansion of products and services. Owner Craig Spaulding says, “Things are going well for us and we are able to offer even more products and services for our customers. We hope they'll be very happy with our latest developments.”

Among those developments are:

More rare DVD titles and exclusives. A bounty of new DVD titles will be coming through the already established distribution agreements with MGM Classics and Columbia Classics. And, to the delight of many, SAE will be cracking open the vault of another major studio's archives very soon. More restored Blu-ray discs are on the way from Twilight Time's arrangement with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment for classics from the Columbia Pictures library. New releases will follow Ray Harryhausen's Mysterious Island and the original cult favorite Fright Night (1985), which street on November 8th and December 13th, respectively. Almost all of the limited edition Twilight Time releases feature isolated score tracks.

More exclusive CD label distribution. In addition to Film Score Monthly, Prometheus Records, BYU, MovieScore Media, SAE Records and Counterpoint Records, SAE will now be the exclusive distributor of the Tribute Film Classics releases. The meticulous rerecordings of classic scores are produced by Anna Bonn, John Morgan and William Stromberg and feature the Moscow Symphony Orchestra in stunning performances. Right around the corner are Max Steiner's Adventures of Don Juan and Arsenic and Old Lace, and Bernard Herrmann's The Battle of Neretva and The Naked and the Dead.

More private label releases. A new Dimitri Tiomkin soundtrack is coming soon from SAE Records, and a stepped-up schedule of titles will be rolling out from Counterpoint Records in cooperation with Film Score Monthly's Lukas Kendall. “SAE is the Amazon of movie music collecting: they have everything, they've been doing this forever, and they are always searching for ways to improve their service and selection,” Kendall says. “Craig and his team are the best at what they do, and that's why I went with them years ago to distribute my FSM catalog.”

More used and rare CDs. A major upgrade of the Used CD Store is underway, with many new acquisitions of major private collections being indexed and added daily to the rare and out-of-print catalog. One collection of over 5,000 titles has recently been acquired from a source in Italy, with many rare European CDs included.

More website and customer service improvements. SAE has implemented newly refined “back office” changes that make major improvements in tracking quantities, resulting in faster shipping. Warehouse space has recently tripled to accommodate more foreign releases and the new DVD titles, as well as stocking larger on-hand quantities of titles from Varese Sarabande, FSM, Intrada, La-La Land, Kritzerland and other labels. SAE has also added bi-coastal web servers for quicker browsing and order processing -- and fewer service interruptions. Among new website features is the Top Weekly Titles showing the best-selling CDs. And coming soon is an RSS feed that will enable customers to receive immediate notifications of release dates, special sales and other important information.
