Bereits im September bildeten The Metropolis Group und Atlantic Screen Music ein neues Label: Metropolis Movie Music.

Two European music banners have joined forces to launch Metropolis Movie Music, a fresh label specializing in movie soundtracks.

The label is birthed by European recording complex, The Metropolis Group and Atlantic Screen Music and aims to release over 50 soundtracks a year. Both groups are headed by familiar names on the music and movie scenes.

Headed by Metropolis Group managing director Ian Brenchley and Atlantic Screen Music founder and CEO Tim Hollier and Atlantic’s Simon Fawcett, Metropolis Movie Music will debut with the original soundtrack album for David MacKenzie’s You Instead. It is pencilled in for release September 26 this year as the movie hits U.K. theaters.

Central to the production of all of the scores will be Metropolis Studio. With a majority of them being original written and composed music, the marriage aims to put the music recording studio firmly on the film as well as music map.

In January 2011, Hollier and Fawcett set up Atlantic Screen Composers (ASC), an investment fund to produce and finance music scores for film and TV. The ASC duo said they are currently producing and funding some 40 plus film scores per year. “To be able to offer our clients an immediate and hands on soundtrack release coupled together with our close relationship with Metropolis Recording Studios gives us a significant advantage over our competitors, be they major publishers or individual record companies,” Hollier and Fawcett said in a statement.

Additionally Metropolis Movie Music has signed an exclusive distribution deal with Universal Music Group imprint to take care of the label’s international interests.
