Jau, Hit Girl wird Jedi. Die Kleine wäre eine gute Wahl, da könnte ich mir aber genauso gut Saoirse Ronan vorstellen, wenn das denn mehr als nur ein Gerücht ist.

Ich hoffe doch, dass die Tür für Vaughn damit noch nicht ganz dicht ist bei weiteren Sequels.

Das finde ich ja problematisch, dass dann stilistisch wenn die Sequels dann immervon jemand anders kommen, die Kontinuität vielleicht ein wenig leidet. Denn am Ende soll es ja ne runde Trilogie sein, zumindest die drei Hauptfilme und keine Aneinanderreihung von Sequel an Sequel.

Kennedy und Kasdan - das halte ich insgesamt für eine gute kreative Kontrolle.

Wenn man's genau nimmt, könnten die Vorzeichen eigentlich nicht besser sein. Und GL steckt ja auch mit drin. Von den 50 Drehbüchern zur Realserie, die unter GL entwickelt wurden, ganz zu schweigen.

Erst beim dritten Lesen bemerkt: JJ Abrams lässt sich bei EPISODE VII nicht auf einen 2015er Start festnageln -

 

Episode VII is set for release in 2015, but sources say Abrams has not committed to that release date, meaning the date could be changed if the development process requires it.

 

Das ist grundsätzlich vernünftig (Warum hetzen lassen?), könnte einige Fans aber erstmal unzufrieden machen...

Vorerst NoGo für die 3D Re-Releases der Episoden 2 und 3:

 

Although plans were underway for theatrical 3D re-releases of both Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, Deadline reports that Lucasfilm will instead concentrate their attention on the upcoming Episode VII instead.

It is unclear how much post-conversion work has already been accomplished on the two remaining prequels (Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menance saw a 3D re-release last year), but it is possible that both films could find a theatrical re-release sometime in the future or that the 3D versions could be released directly to Blu-ray.

Plans also called for the eventual re-release of the original trilogy, although no release dates had been announced. Those plans, too, appear to be off the table for the time being.

UPDATE: Lucasfilm has now released the following official statement:

Lucasfilm has decided to postpone this fall's scheduled release of Star Wars Episodes II and III in 3D. Given the recent development that we are moving forward with a new Star Wars trilogy, we will now focus 100 percent of our efforts on Star Wars: Episode VII in order to ensure the best possible experience for our fans. We will post further information about our 3D release plans at a later date.

Jetzt wird eben noch 3D dazugefügt.

Die können die Filme meinetwegen gerne ins Kino bringen. Aber dann bitte in 2D mit richtig schönen Farben und scharfem Bild. Dann sparen sie sich auch die x Millionen für die Konvertierung.

 

Na, was war wohl der wahre Grund dafür, dass die 3D-Versionen nun nicht kommen? Liegen die Distributionsrechte noch bei Fox, oder hat Episode I vergangenes Jahr nicht genug eingespielt?

Man hat ja auch betont, dass man es bei Ep.II und III wesentlich besser als bei Ep.I machen will (was ich nachvollziehen kann). Offensichtlich ist der Zeitplan gerade etwas eng gesteckt, wie mir scheint. Aber früher oder später wird es natürlich den 3D Release auf die ein oder andere Weise geben.

 

Vor der neuen Trilogie wird es sicher das ein oder andere Kino geben, in dem man die alte Trilogie(n) noch einmal bestaunen darf.

Kathleen Kennedy meldet sich zu Wort...

 

Last week, the speculation over who would direct Star Wars: Episode VII finally drew to a close as it was announced that J.J. Abrams had the job.  So how did producer Kathleen Kennedy woo Abrams to go from one major franchise to another?  In a recent profile on the LucasFilm head, THR explains how Kennedy managed to nab Abrams for one of Hollywood’s most-coveted directing gigs.  She summarized her big pitch: “Please do Star Wars.”  Of course, she had a little help by explaining that Oscar-winner Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine) was writing the script, and writer-director Lawrence Kasdan (The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi) was consulting.  According to Kennedy, Abrams “was flipping out when he found out that Michael and Larry were on the movie already.”

But he wasn’t sold quite yet.  Hit the jump for more including Kennedy’s hesitation regarding Star Wars: Episode VII hitting its previously-reported 2015 release.

According to THR, Abrams was concerned about being separated from his wife and three kids while making Episode VII since the movies probably wouldn’t be shot in Los Angeles.  There’s also the hesitation that any director, producer, or anyone has (or should have) when presented with the opportunity of being involved in the sequel trilogy.  However, after meeting with Kennedy and the writers secretly for about three hours on December 19th, “‘J.J. was just on the ceiling when I walked out the door,’ she recalls.”

Kennedy had the advantage of knowing Abrams since he was 14 when he caught the eye of her long-time associateSteven Spielberg by winning a Super 8 moviemaking contest.  From there, Abrams was hired to restore Spielberg’s own Super 8 videos.  When it came toStar Wars, Abrams and Kennedy “‘spent a lot of time talking about how meaningfulStar Wars is and the depth of the mythology that George has created and how we carry that into the next chapter.’”  After a day of “furious negotiation”, the deal closed on the afternoon of January 25th (although the news was reported on January 24th, it wasn’t official until the following day).

But even though Abrams is now on board, he hasn’t agreed to meeting the 2015 release Disney CEO Bob Iger stated when Disney purchased LucasFilm.  Kennedy shares Abrams’ hesitance to rush Episode VII in order to make that date.  “‘Our goal is to move as quickly as we can, and we’ll see what happens,’ says Kennedy.’The timetable we care about is getting the story.’”

Rob Rodriguez möchte ein Han Solo Spin-Off machen:

 Robert Rodriguez will have Star Wars fanboys-and-girls bubbling with excitement at the admission that he'd be up for directing a Han Solo spin-off.

In a chat with MTV, the Sin City, Desperado and Spy Kids filmmaker said, "I don't mind them doing more Star Wars. I also like the whole idea of them doing off-shoot films, like you just have a Boba Fett movie over here.

"There's so much you can do. George has built such an enormous world... Who's going to live up that? It's almost like they should just branch it out, and let people play with those characters. There's such rich stuff."

Rodriguez goes on to explain the influence George Lucas' space operas had on him, and thinks that the bearded director would suggest he created his own sci-fi universe.

But Rodriguez admits that, if pressed, he wouldn't be able to resist doing a Han Solo movie. "If there was something that somebody said, 'Here, Han Solo, his own adventures.' I'd go do that."

While it's all just banter at this stage, it's enough to incite feverish alternate-universe daydreams of what might be. The only problem is, who could convincingly essay a young Harrison Ford?

Rodriguez is currently working on comic-book sequel/prequel Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, which is earmarked for a 4 October 2013 release. He has also wrapped shooting on Mexploitation follow-up Machete Kills, due out in September 2013.

EL MARIACHI war sehr hübsch, die erste Hälfte von FROM DUSK TILL DAWN ebenso, seine SPY KDS-Filme sind besser als man das erwarten dürfte. MACHETE ist ein passables B-Movie, verschenkt aber viel Potenzial mit seinem aufdringlichen Ins-Publikum-Gezwinker. Der Rest ist für mich formelhafter, gefallsüchtiger Videopremieren-Quark.

 

Ist bestimmt ein netter Kerl, aber so wie ich den sehe, fehlt es doch deutlich an Inspiration und eigenen Ideen. Ein Regisseur aus der zweiten, dritten Reihe. Tarantino Light. Nee: Tarantino Zero.

Als so großer Fan, wie er angeblich einer ist, sollte der Herr Rodriguez wissen, dass es nur eine Möglichkeit gibt, einen Film mit einem jungen Han Solo zu drehen. Und das ist mit einem jungen Harrison Ford. Da das nicht geht, sollte er sich was anderes überlegen.

 

Zarte Bande hatte Rodriguez ja schon sehr früh zu Lucasfilm geknüpft und sich da sehr kundig gemacht, was digitalen Dreh, Schnitt, Tonschnitt etc. angeht.
