George Fenton wird den neuen Film von Terry Gilliam vertonen

 

George Fenton is currently scoring the upcoming sci-fi drama The Zero Theorem. The film is directed by Terry Gilliam and stars Christoph Waltz, David Thewlis, Tilda Swinton, Ben Whishaw, Matt Damon, Lucas Hedges, Peter Stormare and Melanie Thierry. The movie follows an eccentric computer genius plagued with existential angst as he works on a mysterious project aimed at discovering the purpose of existence. Pat Rushin wrote the screenplay and Dean Zanuck (Road to Perdition, Get Low) is producing the Mediapro Studios production with Nicolas Chartier (The Hurt Locker, Killer Joe, The Company You Keep) of Voltage Pictures. Fenton has previously scored Gilliam’s 1991 drama The Fisher King. The director’s other previous musical collaborators include Michael Kamen (Brazil), Dario Marianelli (The Brothers Grimm) and Mychael & Jeff Danna (The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus). The Zero Theorem is expected to premiere later this year. No domestic distribution deal has been announced yet.

As previously reported, Fenton has also scored the HBO original movie Muhammad Ali’s Greatest Fight directed by Stephen Frears and starring Christopher Plummer, Frank Langella. The film is set to premiere later this year. The composer has also scored Ken Loach’s documentary The Spirit of ’45, which is currently awaiting a domestic release date.

Soundtrack kommt bei Milan raus

 

Milan Records will release the official soundtrack album for Terry Gilliam’s sci-fi drama The Zero Theorem. The album features the film’s original music composed by George Fenton (Dangerous Beauty, Groundhog Day, Hitch) who previously scored the director’s The Fisher King. Also included is the song Creep by Argentine jazz singer Karen Souza. The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 28, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Zero Theorem stars Christoph Waltz, David Thewlis, Tilda Swinton, Ben Whishaw, Matt Damon, Lucas Hedges, Peter Stormare and Melanie Thierry. The drama follows an eccentric computer genius plagued with existential angst as he works on a mysterious project aimed at discovering the purpose of existence. The movie premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival and is being released in select international territories over the next few months. No word yet on domestic distribution deal.
