Brian Tyler has been hired to score the upcoming political drama Truth. The film marks the directorial debut of screenwriter James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man, Zodiac, White House Down) and stars Robert Redford, Cate Blanchett, Topher Grace, Elisabeth Moss, Bruce Greenwood and David Lyons. The movie is based on the 2005 memoir Truth and Duty by Mary Mapes about a series of memos critical of President George W. Bush’s Texas Air National Guard service record that had been discovered in the files of the president’s former commanding officer. Vanderbilt has also written the screenplay and is producing the project through Mythology Entertainment company, alongside Brad Fischer (Shutter Island, Zodiac), Doug Mankoff, Andy Spaulding , Mikkel Bondesen and William Sherak. Tyler has previously scored several movies produced by Sherak, including Darkness Falls, Bangkok Dangerous, Middle Men and Columbus Circle, which the composer also co-executive produced. Truth is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere later this year.

Hatte ich heute morgen auch gehört; schade, bei so einem ernsteren Film mit interessantem Ansatz hätte ich mir einen ähnlichen interessanten für die Musik gewünscht. Klingt mir zu beliebig - da hat Brian bessere Musik abseits des Superhero-Genres geschaffen.

The full details of the soundtrack album for the political drama Truth have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Brian Tyler (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Furious 7, Iron Man 3, Now You See Me, Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles, Thor: The Dark World). The drama premiered at this year’s Toronto Film Festival and was released earlier this month by Sony Pictures Classics. Hatte ich heute morgen auch gehört; schade, bei so einem ernsteren Film mit interessantem Ansatz hätte ich mir einen ähnlichen interessanten für die Musik gewünscht. Klingt mir zu beliebig - da hat Brian bessere Musik abseits des Superhero-Genres geschaffen.

 

Hab jetzt auch mal reingehört.. muss dir da leider zustimmen. Aufgrund der Suite muss ich zugeben, klingt das für mich nicht nach der Musik für einen ernsten Film. Klingt eher nach einem Drama mit einigen Gefühlsausbrüchen und wohl ne Menge Pathos als nach einem anspruchsvollen Politdrama, jedoch vielleicht ist der Film ja genau so eine Art von Film, die genau so eine Art von Musik braucht.
