das ganze findet in programm der 2nd international film music conference 'city of ùbeda' "spanien" statt. nähere infos gibt es demnächst hier

spanien ist zwar nicht grad um die ecke, aber ich glaube da muß ich hin, wer noch ?

Hallo.

Ich bin neu am Forum und wollte die Chance nutzen, um euch über das II Internationale Film Musik Kongress in Úbeda (Spanien) mitzuteilen. Es wird zwischen den 20 und 23 Juli stattfinden und wird nicht nur Vortrage berühmter Komponisten anbieten sondern weiterhin auch zwei Konzerte, eins davon unter der Leitung von bekannten Komponisten Basil Poledouris selbst!

Andere Gäste werden sein Oscar nominierter Komponist John Debney, Oscar Gewinner Stephen Warbeck, Französicher Musiker Bruno Coulais, unser Ehrpresidänt John Frizzell sowie famos soundtrack Produzent Robert Townson (Varese Sarabande Records). Weitere Spanische Komponisten, wie z.B. Javier Navarrete, Xavi Capellas oder Mateo Pascual werden auch dabei sein.

Es gibt wieder etwas neues aus Úbeda!

Zu Ehren von Jerry Goldsmith wird es ein 20 Minuten langes Konzert geben, das von John Debney zusammengestellt worden ist. Außerdem wurde ein Jerry Goldsmith Award ins Leben gerufen der an talentierte europäische Filmmusikkomponisten vergeben wird.

Die Verleihung findet erstmalig auf dieser Veranstallung statt!

Jerry Goldsmith Remembered: Live performances and other activities in the II International Film Music Conference, City of Úbeda (Spain) - 20-23 July 2006

21 July 2006 will mark the 2nd Anniversary of Jerry Goldsmith passing away. Surely one on the most influential and beloved film music composers of all times, Goldsmith's music has and still is playing a major role in the lives of many film music enthusiasts and struggling composers around the world.

For this reason, the organisers of II International Film Music Conference - City of Úbeda have decided not to miss the occasion to pay due homage to his persona through a series of events that will include, inter alias, a 20 minutes concert to be conducted by award-winning composer John Debney as well as many other thrilling activities focusing on the musician's work.

Furthermore, this time the symposium will be honoured with the announced presence of his widow Carol and his son Aaron who will, moreover, assist the organisers (the BSOSpirit Society) in launching the Jerry Goldsmith Award: a newly instated prize in the memory of this remarkable composer that should vitally contribute to recognising the talent of young film music composers in Europe.

Conference will be Mr. John Ottman!

He has kindly accepted to join us in Ãbeda this July and, furthermore, he has

made us an offer we definitely couldnât refuse: to give a world premiere live

Es gibt wieder Neuigkeiten!

John Ottman to present Superman Returns in concert

Director, editor and composer John Ottman (The Usual Suspects, X2: X-Men United, The Fantastic Four) is the latest guest to confirm his attendance to the II International Film Music Conference - City of Úbeda (Spain).

Merely one week after the European-wide release of Superman Returns, his most recent collaboration with film director Bryan Singer, John Ottman will contribute with parts of this score to one of the two concerts that will take place during the above-mentioned event. This 15 minutes world premiere performance will furthermore include highlights from Hide and Seek, The Fantastic Four as well as The Usual Suspects.

Mr. Ottman has further announced his intention to also join his fellow colleagues in a panel focused on his professional career in Hollywood and to take part in all other activities envisaged to take place during the 4-days symposium.
