Danny Elfman is reteaming with director Gus Van Sant on the upcoming biographical drama Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot. The film is written and directed by Van Sant and stars Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, Jonah Hill and Jack Black. The movie tells the story of quadriplegic cartoonist John Callahan who became paralyzed following a car accident at the age of 21 and turned to art as a form of therapy, drawing by clutching a pen between his two hands. Charles-Marie Anthonioz (Spring Breakers), Mourad Belkeddar and Nicolas Lhermitte are producing the project for Iconoclast, alongside Steve Golin (Spotlight, The Revenant, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) for Anonymous Content. Elfman and Van Sant have previously worked together on such movies as Good Will Hunting, To Die For, Psycho, Milk, Promised Land, Restless, as well as ABC’s recent mini-series When We Rise. Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot is currently in post-production. No word yet on a premiere date. Elfman’s upcoming projects also include Justice League and Fifty Shades Free. He also scored the period drama Tulip Fever, which is set for a theatrical release in the U.S. later this month.

Plätschert nett vor sich hin - viel hängen bleibt allerdings nicht. Zwei, drei verspielte Tracks im märchenhaften Elfman-Modus stechen etwas heraus (Track 15, "Showing Off" und Track 17, "John's Speech").
