Hm, also so wahnsinnig Aussagekräftig scheinen diese Awards jetzt nicht zu sein. Man muss sich nur mal anschauen, was da so alles nominiert ist...

Wahrhaftig - einerseits ist im Horror-/Thrillerscore-Bereich der durchaus clever ausgearbeitete Shore-Score zu A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE nominiert, andererseits findet sich gleich neben ihm der Tyler-Krach zu CONSTANTINE. *lol*

The International Film Music Critics Assocation was recently formed by Music from the Movies' Mikael Carlsson and is a follow-up to the Film Music Critics Jury that was active a few years ago. The members of the association are active film music reviewers and journalists who write about film scores and soundtrack on a regular basis.

So, nach den Nominierungen, folgen die Gewinner:

Despite two Oscar nominations, John Williams didnt win the Academy Award for Best Original Score this year. However, according to the International Film Music Critics Association, Williams Memoirs of a Geisha was the Best Original Motion Picture Score of 2005, and John Williams was voted Film Composer of the Year. Williams wrote four scores released in 2005 Memoirs of a Geisha, Munich, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and War of the Worlds - and all of them were nominated to the Film Music Critics Awards in different categories.

Film Score Monthly, who has had an impressive output of golden age and silver age classic scores in 2005, was voted the Soundtrack Record Label of the Year. However, Reprise Records and Howard Shore won the Best New CD Release of a Previously Existing Motion Picture Score Award for the complete release of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

In the different genre categories, James Newton Howard won the Action/Adventure award for King Kong, Julian Nott the Comedy Award for Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, John Williams the Drama Award for Memoirs of a Geisha, Howard Shore the Horror/Thriller Award for A History of Violence, Patrick Doyle the Sci-Fi/Fantasy award for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and Michael Giacchino the Television Award for Lost.
