Platoon will release the official soundtrack album for the spy action comedy thriller Argylle. The album features the film’s original score composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout & Dead Reckoning, Black Widow, Top Gun: Maverick, Black Adam, His Dark Materials, The Wheel of Time, The LEGO Batman Movie). Also included is the original song Electric Energy co-written by Balfe and performed by Ariana DeBose, Boy George & Nile Rodgers (to be released as a digital single tomorrow), as well as a second song performed by DeBose. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, February 2 (visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to pre-order). Argylle is directed by Matthew Vaughn and stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Henry Cavill, Dua Lipa, John Cena, Bryan Cranston, Sofia Boutella, DeBose, Catherine O’Hara and Samuel L. Jackson. The movie follows the reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels whose fictional books begin to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization. The thriller will be released in theaters nationwide on February 2 by Universal Pictures before making its streaming debut later this year on Apple TV+.

Einrpägsame Themen für Argylle und 'The Division', wenn mitunter natürlich nichts besonders vielschichtig.
Finde es aber gerade durch die eingängigen Themen und deren Variationen ein sehr kurzweiliges und vergnügliches Hörerlebniss nach dem ersten Hören. Hier bleibt auch einfach mal was hängen, wenn es auch nur Themen sind. Aber die kann eben Lorne Balfe auch, siehe sowas wie HIS DARK MATERIALS.
Matthew Vaughn scheint aber einfach auf solche eingängige Themen zu stehen, denkt man an KICK-ASS (John Murphy, Henry Jackman...) oder X-MEN: FIRST CLASS (Henry Jackman)

Der Song von Ariana DeBose ist jetzt nicht besonderes, aber wenn das hier nicht die finale Bewerbung von Matthew Vaugh und Henry Cavill für einen Bond-Job ist. Frage mich, ob der Song im Abspann kommt oder es Opening Credits á la Bond gibt.

Electric Energy, unter anderem co-komponiert von Balfe und Gary Barlow ist der absolute Knallersong. Ein Ohrwurm erster Güte.

Mir gefällt der Score sehr. Ich mag die Themen und die Instrumentierung. Die Actionmusik ist typisch für Balfe mit Elektronik angereichert. Alles sicher eher einfach und grobschlächtig, aber mir macht die Musik Spaß.
