Neue Details über das RoboCop-Remake.. er wird menschlicher.. naja

Für das Remake des Sci-Fi-Klassikers RoboCop aus dem Jahr 1987 vom Niederländer Paul Verhoeven, schnappte sich der junge Schwede Joel Kinnaman (Easy Money) den Part des Cyborg-Polizisten. Über die Notwendigkeit dieses Remakes lässt sich aber natürlich wie immer streiten und so versucht der Mime momentan mit aller Macht, das Sci-Fi-Publikum auf seine Seite zu ziehen und Euphorie für den Film zu wecken. In einem Interview gab er jetzt erste Details zu RoboCop bekannt:

“RoboCop wird sehr viel menschlicher sein”, sagte Kinnaman. “Der erste Film ist einer meiner Favoriten. Ich liebe ihn. Natürlich hat Verhoeven diesen ganz eigenen Stil, den der neue Film nicht haben wird. Es ist eine neue Interpretation davon und es wird viele Details und Erinnerungen aus dem und an das Original geben. Aber die neue Version ist ein viel besseres Stück für uns Schauspieler, als Alex Murphy, aber vora llem als RoboCop. Es ist viel herausfordernder.”

Offenbar möchte Regisseur José Padilha (Tropa de Elite) dem maschinellen Gesetzeshüter wirklich etwas mehr Leben einhauchen. Ein erster Schritt ist neue Ausrüstüng für RoboCop, die wohl weniger eisern wirken dürfte als die des Originals. Padhila will seine Hauptfigur unter anderem mit einem brandneuen Visor ausstatten, der komplett durchsichtig sein und RoboCops Augen zum Vorschein bringen wird. Vor zu wenig Action dürfen sich Fans aber nicht fürchten. Der Schwede sprach sich eindeutig für ein R-Rating aus und könnte sich das Projekt mit einer niedrigen Jugendfreigabe nicht vorstellen. Wer das ganze Interview lesen möchte, kann dies hier erledigen. Der Kinostart von RoboCop ist für Sommer nächsten Jahres angesetzt, voraussichtlich Anfang August.

Irgendwie erinnert mich mein letzter Satz an eine berühmte Filmszene...

Naja, Kinnaman hat seit "GSI - Spezialeinheit Göteborg" bei mir einen Stein im Brett. Für überflüssig halte ich das Remake trotzdem, schließlich machte Verhoevens Gewalt-Overkill zusammen mit dem satirischen Ansatz im Original durchaus Sinn und wird sich hier sicherlich nicht wiederholen.

KENNETH BRANAGH DREHT JACK RYAN-FILM

Bäumchen wechsle dich: Nachdem zunächst Jack Bender ("Lost") als Regisseur für das noch unbetitelte Jack Ryan-Reboot feststand, übernimmt nun Kenneth Branagh ("Thor") die Inszenierung Wie bekannt, plant Hollywood ein Reboot zu Tom Clancys Romanfigur Jack Ryan. Das noch unbetitelte Projekt sollte von "Lost"-Regisseur Jack Bender in Szene gesetzt werden; dieser sagte aber kurzfristig ab. Nun konnte Kenneth Branagh für die Regie gewonnen werden. Branagh war bisher verantwortlich für Filme wie das Historiendrama "Henry V", das Superhelden-Spektakel "Thor" oder das Shakespear´sche "Hamlet". Zudem sah man das mehrfach Oscar-nominierte Allroundtalent bereits in der Cowboykomödie "Wild Wild West" oder in Bryan Singers "Operation Walküre - Das Stauffenberg-Attentat". Ab April ist der gebürtige Ire zudem im Biopic "My Week with Marilyn" zu bewundern.

Mit Jack Ryan hat sich Kenneth Branagh eine der bekanntesten Figur aus der Welt der Thriller-Romane ausgesucht: In Tom Clancys Büchern "Jagd auf Roter Oktober", "Der Anschlag", "Die Stunde der Patrioten" und "Das Kartell" ist Jack Ryan der Hauptprotagonist der Agentenreihe. Chris Pine ("Star Trek", "Das gibt Ärger") wird den Geheimdienstler verkörpern und tritt damit in die Fußstapfen von Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck und Alec Baldwin, die Ryan in den Roman-Verfilmungen spielten. Der Film soll die Anfangsjahre des CIA-Agenten beleuchten. Produzent Mace Neufeld hat schon eine genauere Vorstellung von der Rolle: "Er ist ein Lehrer, Historiker, Linguist. Und er ist wirklich klug." Der Drehstart ist für September diesen Jahres angesetzt.

BRETT RATNER INSZENIERT "MIDNIGHT RUN" -SEQUEL

Nach 24 Jahren gibt es eine Fortsetzung der Thriller-Komödie " Midnight Run - Fünf Tage bis Mitternacht" mit "X-Men"-Regisseur Brett Ratner. In dem noch unbetitelten Film spielt Hollywoodgröße Robert de Niro ("Killer Elite", "Ohne Limit") weiterhin den Ex-Polizisten Jack Walsh, der sich als Kopfgeldjäger durch den Großstadtdschungel schlägt. Fraglich ist, ob auch Charles Grodin als Buchhalter Jonathan Mardukas wieder in seine alte Rolle schlüpfen wird, da der 77-Jährige bereits seit den 90ern im Ruhestand ist. Für das Drehbuch sind David Elliot ("G.I. Joe") und Paul Lovett ("Vier Brüder") verantwortlich, die das bereits vorhandene Skript von Timothy Dowling ("Das gibt Ärger") noch einmal überarbeiten. Wann die Dreharbeiten beginnen sollen, ist noch unklar.

Hätte man aber auch gut drauf wetten können, dass Jack Ryan demnächst neu aufgelegt wird. Und auch Chris Pine scheint irgendwie logisch.

Bin gespannt, was Branagh da macht. Ne kleine Arie auf nem Atom-Boot Dampfer kann net schaden.

Emmerich mal wieder im gespräch für eine "tolle" Idee:

Roland Emmerich is in talks to direct Sony Pictures' White House Down, written by James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man), reports Deadline.

Details are being kept under wraps for now, but the storyline concerns a para-military takeover of the White House. Mythology Entertainment partners Bradley Fischer, Vanderbilt and Laeta Kalogridis will produce the film.

The site adds that White House Down will be Emmerich's next project as director with filming scheduled to begin in the fall. He would then direct Singularity for Sony.

Ein uns wohl bekannter deutscher Schauspieler macht Bruce Willis das Leben Hard in A Good Day to Die Hard:

Two more actors have signed on for the upcoming fifth Die Hard installment, A Good Day to Die Hard.Variety reports that Sebastian Koch and Yulia Snigir have signed on for villainous roles, playing characters named Komorov and Irina, respectively. They join Bruce Willis, returning as John McClane, and Jai Courtney, playing his son, Jack.

The film puts McClane on an international stage -- truly a NYC fish out of water in Moscow -- and introduces his estranged son Jack. An apple that has not fallen far from the tree, Jack may even be more of a hardass than his father. Despite their differences, they must work together to keep each other alive – and the world safe for democracy.

Koch is best known for roles in The Lives of Others, Black Book and Unknown while Snigir, a Russian model, is making her English-language film debut.

A Good Day to Die Hard begins production next month, aiming for a February 14, 2013 release.

Captain America 2 kommt im Mai 2014 und ist ein direktes Sequel zu den Avengers:

X-Men: First Class geht in die 2. Runde:

Heat Vision reports that Twentieth Century Fox plans on beginning the shoot for its X-Men: First Class sequel in January, meaning that there will be no conflict over Jennifer Lawrence with Lionsgate over the filming of The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire.

The trade says that Fox was originally planning on filming the Matthew Vaughn-directed "X-Men" follow-up this fall, which would have conflicted with Lawrence's Catching Fire, a movie Lionsgate is targeting for an August-September start date. If that had happened, however, Fox would have won out considering the studio would have been able to exercise the sequel option on her contract, which she signed before her "Hunger Games" deal.

Lawrence will reprise her role of Mystique and is expected to be joined again by the likes of James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, January Jones, Nicholas Hoult, Caleb Landry Jones and Lucas Till.

Ben Kingsley wird aller voraussicht nacht Downey jr.s widerscher in IM3

Ben Kingsley, who starred in last year's Hugo and who is now filmingEnder's Game, is said to be in final negotiations to play the villain in Shane Black's Iron Man 3. Variety has the news, saying that Kingsley's part is that of someone tied to nanobot technology and is specifically not the comic book foe, the Mandarin.

Written by Drew Pearce and Black, Iron Man 3 will again star Robert Downey as Tony Stark and Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts. It is slated to begin production shortly in North Carolina with a release date of May 3, 2013.

Alex Proyas macht wohl mit folgendem Projekt weiter:

Finance and international sales company Red Granite Pictures announced today that they will fully finance and co-produce Alex Proyas' The Unpleasant Profession of Jonathan Hoag with Mythology Entertainment, Phoenix Pictures and Mystery Clock Cinema.

Producers are Riza Aziz and Joey McFarland (Red Granite), Bradley Fischer (Mythology Entertainment), Mike Medavoy and Arnie Messier (Phoenix Pictures), Alex Proyas (Mystery Clock Cinema) and Vince Gerardis. Joe Gatta, Topher Dow and Vincent Sieber are executive producers.

Proyas (Dark City, I, Robot, Knowing) will direct the film, which will shoot in Australia where Proyas is a resident and operates his production company, Mystery Clock Cinema. Producers are eyeing a fall 2012 start date.

In Hoag, the title character is struck one evening with the realization that he has no memory of what he does during the day. Distraught over his predicament, and particularly concerned that he might be engaged in some nefarious activities, he contacts a husband and wife detective agency and asks them to surreptitiously follow him. The truth takes a dark and ultimately earth-shattering turn as their investigation leads to a series of frightening revelations, beginning with a group of shadowy figures who gravely warn of dire consequences unless the pair immediately cease their inquiry into the nature of Hoag’s identity.

Proyas adapted the screenplay from a 1942 novella by the Hugo award-winning science fiction author Robert Heinlein. The original story captured Proyas’ imagination from a young age, ultimately serving as inspiration for his iconic film Dark City.

Hoag marks the first of several projects between Red Granite and Mythology Entertainment, whose partners are Bradley Fischer, writer/producer James Vanderbilt, and writer/producer Laeta Kalogridis.

It's official! Dimension Films has announced that Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller will start production on Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dam to Kill For. Here's the full announcement:

Filmmakers Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, along with producer Alexander Rodnyansky, have announced that production will commence on the highly anticipated sequel to 2005’s Sin City, entitled Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. The film will be produced by AR Films and Quick Draw Productions, financed through AR Films U.S and released domestically by Dimension Films.

“The first question I am always asked is “When will you make another Sin City? ,” said Rodriquez. “I have wanted to re-team with Frank Miller and return to the world he created since the day we wrapped the original, but have felt a duty to the fans to wait until we had something truly exceptional that would meet and exceed what have become epic expectations. A Dame To Kill For will certainly be worth the wait.”

Sin City creator, screenwriter and co-director Frank Miller said, “The first Sin City knocked out audiences who had never seen anything like it before. Robert Rodriguez and I are going to shake things up and deliver a ferocious film experience that is going to go even further than the first.“

The script and details of the film’s story have been kept tightly under wraps. Casting will begin next week, with many of the original cast expected to return. The film, a Quick Draw Production, will be produced by Rodriguez and producing partners Aaron Kaufman and Iliana Nikolic; and by Alexander Rodnyansky and Sergei Bespalov and Stephen L’Hereux. Miller, The Weinstein Company’s Harvey and Bob Weinstein and Miramax’s Adam Fields will act as executive producers. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For was developed by Frank Miller based upon his graphic novel, with a screenplay by Frank Miller and Academy Award winner William Monahan (The Departed). The film is expected to begin production this summer at Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios in Austin, Texas.

The original Sin City was brought to the screen by Rodriguez and Miller and released by Dimension in 2005, and proved to be a landmark step forward in filmmaking, breaking ground with immersive green screen to create its iconic stylish look. The first film, released on April 1, 2005, grossed over $160 million (US) worldwide and is a consistently strong home video and television performer.

“Audiences have been clamoring for Sin City 2 with Robert and Frank for a long time and trust me, it will be worth the wait,” said Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company. “This will be my 11th collaboration with Robert in 16 years and he’s become a great friend. I look forward to continuing our long lasting relationship and partnering on more projects in the future.”

Bill Murray schießt nun den vogel ab und sagt, dass GB3 immernoch eine möglichkeit sei... ich spare mir mal das posten eines links, weil in absehbarer zeit sowieso wieder irgendjemand was ganz anderes verlauten lässt. Je länger sich dieses hin und her hinzieht, desto toter als tot wird GB3 für mich werden.

Wahrscheinlich ist das eine Typ-Sache, aber wozu sollte ein dritter GHOSTBUSTERS-Film gut sein?

Um nostalgisch-verklärte End-Dreißiger und Früh-Vierziger in ihre Kindheit zurück zu versetzen...

...und schließlich zu schockieren, dass Aykroyd und Murray leider nicht mehr so aussehen wie damals.

Abgesehen davon: Ich würd´s mir anschauen. Wundert mich eh, dass das Studio das Franchise so ewig brach liegen lässt.

Stop kicking the dead horse... Mir sind ja auch die gottelenden 80er-Jahre-Remakes ein Grauen, aber da gibt es ja wenigstens theoretisch die Möglichkeit einer neuen Sicht und Interpretation. Aber warum untote Filmreihen (ich hasse das Wort "Franchise", ich rede über Kino uns keine Fast-Food- oder Fertigbäcker-Filialen) wiederbeleben? Reichen nicht die anderthalb guten GHOSTBUSTERS-Filme, die es schon gibt? Oder ist das so ein neues Ding, sich erst eine Fortsetzung herbeiwünschen, die dann (mit gedrosselten Erwartungen) gucken gehen, dann darüber jammern, dass das voll doof ist, aber sich später trotzdem die BluRay(-Box) kaufen, weil man ja schon alle irgendwie braucht? Hey, die Industrie freut das, keine Frage...

Naja, es ist wohl eher der Wunsch, noch mal so einen Spaß wie bei Sichtung der ersten beiden (anderthalb?) Filme zu haben. Ich zumindest gucke die heute noch gerne. Und ja, nach der letzten Sichtung hätte ich nach Teil 2 direkt mit einem imaginären Teil 3 weitermachen können, so nett war das.

Das Problem ist nur: Es sind 23 Jahre vergangen, und es werden mindestens 24 Jahre vergangen sein, bis ein neuer Teil kommt. Wie der aussieht, weiß ich jetzt schon:

- Bill Murray gibt den Dieter Hildebrandt der Runde, weil er ja jetzt anspruchsvolle Kinokost macht.

- Dan Aykroyd wird nicht mehr in den Overall passen.

- Harold Ramis´ gesamte schauspielerische Leistung wird aus einem Dauergrinsen bestehen.

- Ernie Hudson... tja, äh, wer ist Ernie Hudson???

- Sigourney Weaver spielt gar nicht erst mehr mit, sondern wartet auf das nächste Cameron-Engagement.

- Rick Moranis spielt einen desillusionierten Witwer mit zwei Kindern.

- Die eigentliche Hauptrolle spielen einige Nachwuchs-Ghostbuster, die von den alten Säcken angelernt werden. Bestehend vermutlich aus Logan Lerman, Taylor Kitsch, Taylor Lautner und einem - Innovation! - Quoten-Asiaten. Der Bösewicht wird von Alex Pettyfer gemimt.

Wenn sie allerdings eine ordentliche Story finden, die sich nur um die alten Knacker dreht und eventuell sogar die Weaver wieder mitmacht, dann, ja, dann...

Effekte von ILM, ist ja wohl klar, Musik voraussichtlich von Danny Elfman. Regie Ivan Reitman mit viel Hilfe von seinem Sohnemann...

As one of our most anticipated movies of the quarter, Ridley Scott’s Prometheus is standing strong for sci-fi in a year that is dominated by superhero fare. While you can check out thetrailers, viral marketing and a host of images for the film, Scott recently commented on a few details of Prometheus regarding its run-time and his director’s cut. Although he’s known for his support of director’s cut releases on DVD/Blu-ray – notably Blade Runner, Kingdom of Heavenand Legend – Scott has said that:

“The cut that you’re gonna see in cinemas…it’s always the director’s cut, really.”

Whether that quote still stands once Prometheus hits the store shelves remains to be seen. The film stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Rafe Spall, Sean Harris, Logan Marshall-Green, and Charlize Theron and opens on June 8th. Hit the jump to read more about what Scott had to say.

“I’ve only made a mistake once on cutting a film short — I won’t say what it is right now, because this is not the time — but I removed 17 minutes off a movie, and I didn’t ruin it, but it wasn’t [as effective]. In this instance, you got a pretty good version here, pretty good cut. We’re running at about — I think without the end titles, which normally run about four to five minutes — we’re running one hour, fifty-nine minutes and change. It’s very tight, it’s what it should be.”
