Stallone hat seinen Regisseur für den dritten Teil seiner "Expandables" gefunden

 

Sylvester Stallone has just revealed via Twitter that Patrick Hughes (Red Hill) will take over from him as director on the third Expendables movie. "EX3 Needs freshness, class, and much badass," says Stallone. "....Found it... Blood Sweat and Fears, coming soon... My best PURE ACTION FILM - The last RAMBO - I want this one to top it and I believe it will with NEW BLOOD." After dropping a few more hints he just came out with it. Stallone also revealed that he did indeed try to get Mel Gibson to helm the movie as was rumored, and fancied Jon Woo for the gig too but things didn't work out. There have been quite a few actors -- including Jackie Chan, Nic Cage and Wesley Snipes -- also said to be in line for roles in the threequel, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Das mit Mel Gibson war doch nur ein Scherz von Stallone, die ein paar Leute auf Twitter ernst genommen haben. Ein paar Stunden später hat er den Scherz schon wieder aufgelöst und erzählt, dass er da nur ein wenig rumgewitzelt hat.

Wenn ich's nicht besser wüsste, würde ich denken alle EXPENDABLES-Filme sind nur ein Scherz von Stallone.

Red Hill war ja ein recht klassischer (Neo) Western mit nachvollziehbaren Actionszenen. Die Hoffnung bleibt also das Hughes das auch für EX3 beibehält. Ich bin jedenfalls gespannt.

Ich fand ihn ganz ordentlich. Keine überraus originelle Story und ein zwei Storyelemente die nicht so ganz passen wollen, aber im Gesamtbild doch stimmig. Darstellerleistungen sind ordentlich und die Musik war auch ganz nett. Australien gibt auch ein schöne Location ab. Im Zweifelsfall vielleicht erstmal ausleihen.

Geschmacksache. In der an Flops nicht armen Oscar-Moderations-Geschichte ist Seth M. ein sauberer Reinfall. Da hab ich mir dringend Mart&Baldwin gewünscht. Oder Fey&Poehler.

J.J. Abrams Bad Robot schnappt sich die Rechte für ein Stephen King-Buch 

 

J.J. Abrams‘ Bad Robot is in negotiations for the rights to Stephen King‘s bestselling 2011 novel 11/22/63. The deal is being done through Warner Bros TV, where Bad Robot is under a deal. I hear the plan is to adapt the book as a TV series or miniseries, likely for cable. 11/22/63 centers on Jake, an unassuming divorced English teacher who stumbles upon a time portal that leads to 9/9/1958 and goes on a quest to try and prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy, which occurred on November 22, 1963. Bad Robot, which received an early renewal for NBC’s Revolution earlier today, had been looking to expand its TV business to cable. In addition to Revolution, the company has CBS drama Person Of Interest also renewed for next season. The deal for 11/22/63 comes on the heels of CBS’ green light for a drama series based on King’s novel Under The Dome, which will air this summer.

Johnny Depp is in talks to star in Disney's film adaptation of Broadway musical Into the Woods, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

The film would mark Depp's first singing role since starring in Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd: The Demon of Fleet Street.

The project would also reunite Depp with Rob Marshall, who directed Disney’s fourth Pirates of the Caribbean outing. In addition to his Broadway credits as director and choreographer, Marshall directed the musical feature films Chicago and Nine, as well as the 1999 TV movie, Annie.

 

Into the Woods is a mashup of classic fairy tales that revolves around a childless Baker and his wife, who attempt to lift a family curse by journeying into the woods to confront the Witch that put the spell on them. Along the way, they encounter a group of characters including Rapunzel, Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood.

Meryl Streep will play the plum role of the vain and charismatic witch. In what would be a key supporting role, Depp will play a hungry and sexy variation of the fairy tale wolf character. James Lapine wrote the screenplay, based on his book for the 1986 musical. The Tony-winning original score is by Stephen Sondheim, who also composed the music for Sweeney Todd. Frequent Marshall collaborator David Krane is working on the score for the film. John DeLuca is producing. 

 

The film would also keep Depp in the Disney fold. The actor, who has made a number of blockbusters with the studio, including the Pirates films and Burton's Alice, will next be seen in Disney's The Lone Ranger.   Depp is currently shooting Wally Pfister's directing debut Transcendence. He is repped by UTA and attorney Jacob Bloom.

Zu Die Hard 6 gibts nun erste Infos und einen (Arbeits-)Titel:

After the Russia-based antics of A Good Day To Die Hard, we’ve gleaned some exclusive details about the next installment in the Die Hard franchise.

Die Hard 6 - or Die Hardest, as it’s currently known - is currently at the writing stage, with Brit Ben Trebilcook penning a treatment.

Trebilcook is currently working on Knockout, a videogame-themed actioner set to star real-life martial arts stars. It was on this film that he came into contact with Larry D. Webster, consulting producer on A Good Day To Die Hard.

Through discussions with Webster, Trebilcook landed the Die Hard 6treatment-writing gig. Details are scarce at the moment, but we know that the story begins in New York, before moving to Tokyo, which will be the predominant location.

As the project’s at the treatment stage, we’ll have to wait to see if this one does progress to production, but Trebilcook thinks his take will please fans. “It is extremely faithful to the franchise and characters and is a natural progression. It's also a very plausible storyline,” he told us.

Clarifying the current status of Die Hard 6, Trebilcook added, "Getting Larry's support was great, but there are many hurdles to leap yet and two of those are called Bruce Willis and [producer] Alex Young. [There's] the possibility producers might go back and find some other source material to base the next one on, like they did with the first and second. Mine though, I feel it could be the Rocky Balboa of the Die Hard franchise."

Steven Spielberg has found his next directing project: an adaptation of American Sniper, the autobiography of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, which is set up at Warner Bros. Bradley Cooper is attached to star and has been developing the project as a producer.

Spielberg will also produce with Andrew Lazar and Peter Morgan.
