Bei uns heisst das Buch "Sophiechen und der Riese" und hat folgenden Inhalt:

 

Es ist Mitternacht und das kleine Waisenkind Sophiechen wacht auf, um zu erfahren, was in der Geisterstunde passiert.

 

Aus dem Fenster sieht sie eine große schwarze Gestalt, die um die Häuser zieht und eine Art Trompete in offene Fenster steckt, mit der er etwas in die Zimmer hineinbläst. Die schwarze Gestalt bemerkt Sophiechen und streckt seine große Hand ins Zimmer und entführt Sophiechen.

Am nächsten Morgen befindet sich Sophiechen in einer riesigen Höhle mit riesigen Regalen, Einmachgläsern, Stühlen und einem riesigen Tisch. Dann zeigt sich ein acht Meter großer Riese mit großen Segelohren. Zunächst glaubt Sophie, dass der Riese sie fressen möchte, doch der Riese zeigt sich ihr als sehr freundlich. Der Riese nennt sich der GuRie (Guter Riese) und hat sie nur entführt, weil sie ihn beobachtet hatte. Riesen sollen nicht gesehen werden, weil die Menschen sie dann jagen und töten könnten.

 

Sophiechen erzählt ihm, dass er sie aus einem Waisenhaus entführt hat, und dass sie froh darüber ist. Daraufhin freunden sich der GuRie und Sophiechen an. Doch im Riesenland befinden sich noch neun andere Riesen, die keine freundlichen Absichten hegen. Sie sind fünfzehn Meter groß, hässlich und leidenschaftliche Menschenfresser. Sie ziehen um die Welt, um in den Nächten Menschen aus ihren Häusern zu zerren und sie anschließend zu fressen. Sie verachten den GuRie, weil er keine Menschen frisst, freundlich und nicht halb so groß ist wie sie.

 

Der GuRie ernährt sich von widerlichen Kotzgurken und trinkt Blubberwasser, damit er lustige Furzelbäume machen kann. Der GuRie erklärt Sophie, dass sich in den Einmachgläsern Träume befinden, die er aus dem Traumland eingekäschert hatte und er zieht nachts in die Städte, gießt die Träume in die Trompete, bläst sie in die Häuser und beschert so den schlafenden Menschen schöne Träume.

Sophiechen will GuRie dazu bringen etwas gegen die bösen Riesen zu unternehmen. Doch wie soll man menschenfressende Riesen aufhalten? Zusammen mit der Queen in England können sie alle Riesen aufhalten. Der GuRie bekommt später von Sophiechen Nachhilfe im Sprechen und Schreiben.

We have now learned that this is not the first time that allegations of this sort have been made by Mr. Egan. His suit filed in 2000 against other parties referenced in the complaints made no mention of any alleged trips to the state of Hawaii. Filing the complaints in Hawaii is a blatant attempt by Mr. Egan of forum shopping.

Our client Mr. Goddard intends to vigorously defend this suit, to uphold his good name and reputation. We are confident that the objective facts will demonstrate that the allegations against Mr. Goddard are false.

Bin da ganz bei dir.. Man of Steel war der schlechtesten Filme, den ich in letzter Zeit gesehen habe.. selten hat mich ein Film so kalt gelassen und nun macht Snyder noch mehr Filme für DC. Okay.. Man of Steel war ja erfolgreich in den Kinos, wenn ich mich nicht täusche oder? Dann ist es ja fast vorprogrammiert gewesen, dass der Snyder da weitermacht. Gut für die Fans, die seinen MOS so gemocht haben.. und gut für mich, dass man sich ja nicht alles anschauen muss.

DC scheint sich an Snyder zu klammern, sozusagen die Anti-Marvel-Lösung. Der JUSTICE LEAGUE-Film wird dann wohl auch eher sowas wie MAN OF STEEL 3. Nun, irgendwie schade, aber es ist ja zum Glück nicht mein Geld (höhö)

With the HBO series The Wire, creator/executive producer David Simon tackled real, hard-hitting issues in America with a frankness that was—and still is—rare in the entertainment world.  Throughout those five seasons, Simon chronicled the War on Drugs, the issues plaguing the public education system, racism, and various other issues that remain some of the biggest problems facing our nation today.  The Wire is truly one of the best shows in the history of television, and now Simon has an incredibly promising idea for a future project that he’d love to dig into: the history of the CIA.  However, the chances of it ever coming to fruition may be slim.

“I’ve got a story that I’d love to do, which I’ve been working on for eight or nine years, which is the history of the CIA, which would basically be America’s foreign policy footprint. But it’s 70 years of period piece filming, it’s all over the world, there’s a lot of CGI. Scene I, Act I is Berlin after the war, in total wreckage. And HBO goes, ‘Listen, it was all fun when we were giving him $20 million and he was making The Wire and no one was watching, but do you take us for fools?’ They’re looking at what the plausible revenue stream with all the downloads and BitTorrent. The window of this Golden Age of Television might have a point where it snaps shut on your fingers, because we’re talking like a Hollywood studio. ‘Can we get James Franco? If we get James Franco, you can make it.”

Sir Patrick Stewart wird wieder im TV zu sehen sein und wird die Serie names "Blunt Talk" auch produzieren

 

Well, that didn’t take very long. Patrick Stewart, fresh off his triumphant run on Broadway with Waiting for Godot and No Man’s Land, has inked a deal for his next project. Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Captain Picard will star in and co-produce Blunt Talk, a half-hour scripted comedy for STARZ. The network announced that they’d given the show – from Seth MacFarlane and Jonathan Ames --a two-season, 20-episode order. MacFarlane, as fans Star Trek fans know, guest starred as Rivers in the Enterprise episodes “The Forgotten” and “Affliction.”

Blunt Talk, set to debut in 2015, will center on Walter Blunt (Stewart), a British import intent on conquering the world of American cable news. Via his nightly L.A.-based interview show, Blunt aims to share his wisdom and guidance as to how Americans should live, think and behave. Meanwhile, he has only his alcoholic manservant, who came over with him from the U.K., to help him contend with a dysfunctional news staff, numerous ex-wives and children of all ages. Each episode, according to a STARZ press release, will follow the fallout from Blunt’s well-intentioned, but mostly misguided decision-making, both on and off the air.
“My career took an abrupt and radical left turn when Seth MacFarlane created CIA Deputy Director Avery Bullock on American Dad,” Stewart said in a statement. “This new character, Walter Blunt, is not at all like Avery, thank God, because this is live action and I am a Knight of the Realm. Blunt is, however, much smarter than Avery and has his own TV show, which has to be better than being Deputy Director of the CIA.”

GHOSTBUSTERS wird zusammen mit GHOSTBUSTERS II voraussichtlich im September als Box erscheinen. Teil zwei kommt damit erstmals als Blu-ray auf den Markt und es wird wohl neues Bonusmaterial enthalten sein, sowie eine Slimer-Statue. Angepeilter Veröffentlichungstermin ist der 30.09.. Sicherlich wird der zweite Teil auch separat erhältlich sein.

Interview mit David Cronenberg über "Maps to the Stars"

Neuer Regisseur für den dritten Teil der neuen Star Trek-Reihe, der aber darauf vermuten lässt, dass sich bei der Machart der Filme wohl nicht viel ändern wird.

 

With J.J. Abrams off in that galaxy far, far away, Paramount wasn’t willing to put the Star Trek franchise into dry dock and wait for the producer/director to be available again to oversee the Enterprise. So for a while now, word has been spreading that Roberto Orci is after the big gig for the third film, and Variety brings news that he’s now hammering out a deal to do just that.

Despite never having directed a film before, Orci has been involved with plenty of big projects, including the Transformers films, Cowboys & Aliens, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Mission: Impossible III and, of course, both of Abrams' Star Trek films. Audience feelings towards his work with long-time co-writer/producer Alex Kurtzman have been mixed, however, and the news won’t exactly be greeted with total acceptance.

Orci and Kurtzman – who have announced that they’re ending their partnership to focus on solo projects, with Kurtzman looking to make Spidey spin-off Venom – are currently writing Star Trek 3 alongside J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay and the plot is naturally being kept a secret for now. And while no official casting has been announced, expect the regular crew led by Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and the rest, to return. There’s also no official release date yet, but we figure Paramount would want it ready for 2016, which happens to be the 50th anniversary of Kirk and co.

Der nächste Film vom "Drive"-Regisseur Nicolas Winding Refn wird ein Horrorfilm werden.

 

Though one could argue that Nicolas Winding Refn has already made a number of horror films, he now looks poised to tackle the genre in earnest—on a big studio movie, no less.  Deadline reports that the Drive director is in early talks to helm The Bringing, a haunted hotel pic for Sony Pictures.  The idea for the film was spurred by the strange death of a woman at the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles who was found in the water tanks.  Video surfaced of the woman acting erratically in the hotel elevator, and the Cecil has been home to a number of suicides over the years.  The event inspired Brandon and Phillip Murphy to pen a script on spec revolving around a man investigating a death at the hotel, only to find himself stumbling into a nightmare.

nicolas-winding-refn-the-bringingSony Pictures acquired the spec for The Bringing in February as part of a heated bidding war, and while Refn has reached the point in his career where he’s normally courted for projects, Deadline notes that he actively sought this one out.  The filmmaker is coming off the surrealistic Only God Forgives, which played more like a fever dream than a narrative feature, and one can only imagine what kind of terror Refn might dream up with a haunted hotel premise.

What’s also interesting about The Bringing is that the film would bring Refn into the Hollywood studio system.  Though the director previously planned on making another film with Carey Mulligan after Only God Forgives, he has yet to settle on a follow-up project.  He developed a Logan’s Run remake at Warner Bros. for a couple of years, but eventually departed the project over scheduling and commitment issues.  Hopefully the same problem doesn’t occur with The Bringing, because I’m incredibly curious to see what Refn could do with this material.
