Das Datum dürfte offiziell sein, da Vin Diesel dieses ebenfalls schon genannt hat, wenn ich mich nicht irre. Auch auf diversen anderen Filmseiten wird das Datum genannt, deutscher Starttermin soll allerdings schon der 13. April 2017 sein.

Ja, bei mir auch. Alle vier haben durchaus ihre markanten Züge und Arten, die auf der Leinwand Spaß machen. Vor allem Goldblum mag ich sehr gerne.

IE4 war damals einer der ersten großen Blockbuster, die ich im Kino gesehen habe. Da gibt es schon ein bissl Nostalgie. Könnte mir vorstellen, dass das schon recht stark auf großer Leinwand rüberkommen wird. Der alte Film hat ja auch eine enorme Wirkung gehabt, was die Raumschiff Szenen etc. betrifft. Da kann auch kein anderer Film von Emmerich, meiner Meinung nach, mithalten.

Untertassen-Invasions-Streifen kann es eigentlich nie genug geben.

Sollte es mit dem selben Humor inszeniert werden, wie Teil 1, kann eigentlich nur wenig schiefgehen.

Interessant. So habe ich das noch nie betrachtet, obschon es doch ziemlich nahe liegend ist. Selbst der Computervirus am Ende ist da ja mehr als passend.

 

Zum Kinobesuch werde ich mir auf jeden Fall ne Fat Lady besorgen, die danach genüsslich geraucht wird. Man will den Sieg über die Aliens ja gebührend feiern.

Die Sache mit dem Virus fiel mir damals schon auf. Fand ich eine gelungene Verneigung vor dem Buch.

 

Habe auch irgendwo mal gelesen, dass Spielberg schon in den 90ern eine Verfilmung des Buches plante, das Projekt aber erstmal fallen ließ, nachdem er hörte, was Emmerich dreht.

ID4 ist der einzige Film den ich mir in allen möglichen Formaten geholt habe bzw. geschenkt bekommen habe, damals auf Video, später auf DVD und dann auf BluRay in Steelbook

 

Ich hoffe nur, dass der neue ID4 Streifen wieder ein David-Arnold-Score bekommt und keine Harald-Kloser-Kopie des Originals.

Wir wissen nicht was er ursprünglich plante, aber er konnte nun natürlich nicht auch einen kunterbunten Abenteuerfilm daraus machen, weil ihm dann viele vorgeworfen hätten ID4 zu kopieren.

Da war wohl eine düstere, "realistischere" Variante die einzige Wahl.

Obwohl ich den Film auch mag, wäre mir eine "leichtere" Version wohl doch lieber gewesen.

Dann hätten wi nämlich auch einen typischeren Williams-Score bekommen.

 

Man was habe ich mich gefreut. Spielberg und Williams machen THE WAR OF THE WORLDS!

Und dann wird das so eine Art 9/11 Aufarbeitung!

 

Dennoch mein Liebster Spielberg seiner Spätphase.

Endlich richtige dreibeinige Kampfmaschinen! Schon dafür hat es sich gelohnt. Die waren genial gemacht und echt furchteinflößend.

na zum glück haben wir den nicht bekommen. john williams im düstermodus ist nämlich ausgezeichnet. straffe actionmusik und rhythmen und keine unsinning ausgewaltzen themen. besser konnt es nicht kommen.

Ich mag Williams' WAR OF THE WORLDS sehr, obwohl es kein CLOSE ENCOUNTERS oder E. T. ist ... gerade weil es bei einem Alien-Thema ein komplett anderer Score geworden ist. Den Strawinskyartigen-Still mit aggressiven Klängen finde ich sehr interessant.

 

Dafür sollten wir hoffentlich mit dem neuen STAR WARS einen weiteren bunten Williams-Score bekommen.

Wenn man sich die Thematiken und die Umsetzungen von E.T. zu WAR OF THE WORLDS anschaut, dann wäre alles andere als dieser musikalische Unterschied auch nicht wohl geraten.

Was Star Wars angeht, wird es bestimmt wieder bunter, aber ich gehe auch mal davon aus, dass der Score den ein oder andere düsteren bzw. dunkleren Moment verpasst bekommen wird. Worauf ich mich sehr freue.

Ben Affleck und Matt Damon machen wieder ein gemeinsames Projekt.

 

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are teaming up to bring the FIFA soccer scandal to the big screen, adapting the upcoming book Houses of Deceit by Buzzfeed reporter Ken Bensinger.

As first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. picked up the rights to Houses of Deceit, which will be produced by Damon and Affleck’s production company, Pearl Street Films. EW has confirmed that Gavin O’Connor (Warrior) is set to direct the film, reteaming with Affleck in their first project since wrapping up The Accountant. Warrior screenwriter Anthony Tambakis is attached to script. 

News of the deal ends a studio bidding war for Houses of Deceit, which Bensinger hasn’t even been published yet. Based on a 2014 article by the Pulitzer Prize finalist that delves into the story of former American FIFA executive Chuck Blazer—who in 2013 admitted to accepting millions of dollars in kickbacks and bribes over the course of 20 years—the book has been picked up by Simon & Schuster and is slated for publication sometime in 2017.

Though no casting decisions have been made, Bensinger says he envisions Blazer being portrayed by someone like John Goodman, whom he says would bring “fury and comedy to the role.” 

The story of Blazer’s involvement in a high-profile bribery scandal showcased the dark underbelly of soccer, revealing illicit corruption throughout the international body. At one point, Blazer used his position of influence to finance a Trump Tower apartment in Manhattan—just to house his cats. The New York native later cooperated with authorities in an in-depth investigation, and in May of this year, the 70-year-old pleaded guilty to 10 charges including wire fraud, money laundering, racketeering, and income tax evasion.

“I love the con-man story and just love that this is about a very strong sense of good and bad,” Bensinger says. “There’s not a lot of ambiguity about how these people behave. The IRS and FBI, and all these people who sort of did the good work and brought down something that was untouchable, because the power of FIFA internationally is unbelievable. It’s as if you combined the MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL into one organization.”

Michael Bay macht wirklich ernst mit dem THE BIRDS-Remake. Nun hat er einen Regisseur gefunden.

 

It takes a bold individual to think to themselves, “You know, Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds could use a remake,” and a bolder one still to put that plan into motion. Enter Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes production company, who have teamed up with Peter Guber’s Mandalay Pictures to revisit and remake the 1963 horror classic. Along with Universal, the production companies have now tapped director Diederik Van Rooijen (Daylight) to helm the picture.

Variety reports that Van Rooijen is leading the flock on The Birds remake, but no new plot details are available at this point. The original film, adapted from Daphne Du Maurier’s short story, centered on a San Francisco socialite who moves north to a small California town, only to find that it’s come under attack from various types of birds. If you’re unfamiliar with the picture, this trailer should help give you a general idea of what the film is about:

Seriously, how great was Hitchcock? Not just as a director, but as an entertainer. When’s the last time a director sent out a five-minute teaser trailer in which he simply spoke to the audience and delivered a tongue-in-cheek presentation about his upcoming film via a natural history lesson? (And those props!)

I admire Universal’s desire to remake their classic horror films and monster movies, though it goes without saying that no one can really remake a Hitchcock movie (see Gus Van Sant’s nearly shot-for-shot Psycho remake in 1998). So with that in mind, I’d love it if Van Rooijen put his own spin on the property, though with Bay’s input there’s every chance it’ll end up something closer to Birdemic than The Birds.

Gerade nochwas entdeckt. Paul Thomas Anderson schreibt ein Pinocchio-Drehbuch für Robert Downey jr.

 

Pinocchio is not the next movie you would expect from the director of There Will Be Blood and Boogie Nights, but it's apparently happening. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paul Thomas Anderson is writing a new draft of a Pinocchio adaptation, and he may end up directing it, too.

Robert Downey Jr. has reportedly been developing the film for years and plans to star as Geppetto. He'd be a great actor to put in front of Anderson's camera, even if the subject matter and tone are a bit of a departure from the director's previous films. Downey reportedly planned to star in Anderson's most recent movie, Inherent Vice, before dropping out to shoot Age of Ultron.

Anderson's script won't be entirely original. Several other writers, including Bryan Fuller and Jane Goldman, have made earlier drafts, and even Downey is said to have put some work into it. Now production on the film is apparently kicking into high gear over at Warner Bros. after seeing how successful live action films based classic kids' stories can be. Disney has done great with this type of adaption, most recently with Cinderella. That's why in recent months, basically every classic fairy tale you can name has been picked up as a live action film. Sofia Coppola was even supposed to do The Little Mermaid, although she later dropped off of the project.

Anderson still seems like an odd choice for Pinocchio, although he's very much not set as its director yet. As a writer, Anderson's help is hard to argue with. His scripts are consistently smart and compelling, and he does love to work with father–son relationships. It's not stated when Warner Bros. would like to have this film out in theaters, but it seems like the project now has the momentum to get there.

Deadline brings word that actors J.K. Simmons and Michael Keaton have both dropped out of Legendary Pictures and Universal’s Kong: Skull Island due to scheduling conflicts. Production on the film was set to begin this fall but was recently delayed a few weeks, resulting in the conflict. Legendary is currently seeking to replace the two actors in the film, which still has the god of mischief himself, Tom Hiddleston, attached to star.

Earlier this year, Simmons revealed a surprise setting for the film, saying it would take place in Detroit in 1971; however, given the title of the movie, it’s a safe bet that the jungles of King Kong’s homeland will be the primary setting.

Set for release on March 10, 2017, Kong: Skull Island aims to fully immerse audiences in the mysterious and dangerous home of the king of the apes as a team of explorers ventures deep inside the treacherous, primordial island. Legendary’s story honors the foundations of existing King Kong lore, but places it in an entirely new, distinct timeline.

The Kings of Summer‘s Jordan Vogt-Roberts will direct the film from a script by John Gatins and Max Borenstein. Thomas Tull (Godzilla, The Dark Knight, Pacific Rim) and Jon Jashni (Godzilla, Warcraft) will produce and Alex Garcia (Godzilla) will executive produce. The film will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D by Universal Pictures.

Wie wollen Sie bitte Peter Jackson's gigantisches Meisterwerk KING KONG toppen wollen oder auch nur ansatzweise an den Film herankommen? Ich bezweifle, dass das machbar wäre, lasse mich aber gerne eines besseren belehren!

 

... ich finde es schade, dass diese beiden großartigen und charismatischen Schauspieler nicht dabei sein werden.
