Hmm anscheinend will Warner Bros GREMLINS rebooten...

 

 

 

According to Vulture, Warner Bros. Pictures is negotiating with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment to reboot their 1984 horror comedy, Gremlins. Apparently there have been numerous attempts to get the wheels in motion on this over the years but things always fell through, however, sources claim that this time it's looking good. That's pretty much all the info out there at the moment but we'll update if we find anything else out.

Neuer Film für Liam Neeson und damit die dritte Zusammenarbeit mit Jaume Collet-Serra nach "Unknown" und "Non-Stop". 

 

Back in November, we reported that Liam Neeson was in talks to star in the Warner Bros. thrillerThe All Nighter (a.k.a. Run All Night).  According to Deadline, the title has reverted to Run All Night and Neeson is confirmed to star.  Neeson will play an aging hitman who, in order to protect his wife and son, must take on his former boss in a single night.  He then finds himself on the run from the mob and authorities with his estranged son in tow.  Although Run All Night comes from a spec script by Brad Ingelsby, it sounds slightly similar to the excellent 2011 French thrillerSleepless Night, which centers on a man who must spend a night avoiding the mob and cops as he tries to rescue his son (Warner Bros. owns the English-language remake rights for Sleepless Night).

Deadline also reports that Jaume Collet-Serra might sign on to direct.  Collet-Serra previously directed Neeson in Unknown and the upcoming airline thriller Non-Stop, which sees Neeson playing an Air Marshal trying to protect a plane that’s been taken hostage.

Musik könnte dann wohl wieder Ottman sein, der ja für alle Filme von Collet-Serra die Musik schreibt... inklusive "Non-Stop" wie er Anne und mir am Montag erzählt hat. Also Ottman hat in der nächsten Zeit nur mit zwei Regisseure zu tun.. Singer und Collet-Serra.. und danach wird er wohl wirklich das Licht am Ende des Tunnels sehen

 

und neues von Ron Howard

 

While director Ron Howard is currently knee-deep in post-production on his upcoming Formula 1 racing drama Rush, it appears that he may have found his next project.  Howard is now attached to direct an adaptation of the 2003 Israeli TV movie Kol Ma She’Yesh Li (translated to All I’ve Got).  The project has been in development at J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot for a couple of years, but it looks like Howard’s involvement will start moving this thing closer to production.  Hit the jump for more details on the film, which is described as a mix between The Notebook and Albert Brooks’ fantastic 1991 pic Defending Your Life.

News of Howard’s involvmenet with All I’ve Got comes via Vulture.  Written and directed by Margalit Keren (Be’Tipul), the story begins when a young couple who are very much in love get into a car accident, killing the young man.  The woman goes on to marry another man and have three children, but her death 50 years later brings her to the afterlife where she’s given the choice of forgetting the memory of her life post-accident and starting over as a young woman with her first love, or remaining as she is and waiting for her second husband’s death.  It’s an interesting premise, and if Howard sticks closer to Defending Your Life than The Lovely Bones, we could be in for something pretty cool.

The film would mark Howard’s first fantasy feature since 2000’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas, but not for lack of trying.  He’s been working hard to get an ambitious three-film adaptation ofStephen King’s The Dark Tower for the past few years, but last we heard the project was still having trouble getting financing.  Could All I’ve Got serve as Howard’s replacement fantasy project?  Hopefully we hear more soon

Scorsese nächster Film nach "The Wolf Of Wall Street" wird wohl "SILENCE" mit Al Pacino; Joe Pesci und Robert De Niro werden

 

Director Martin Scorsese has only just begun to dive into post-production on his financial dramaThe Wolf of Wall Street, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, but he’s already looking ahead to his next project.  The filmmaker has been developing an adaptation of Shusaku Endo’s novel Silence for 15 years, and is now adamant that the 17th century Jesuit priest drama will be his next film.  Of course Scorsese said the same thing after wrapping Hugo, only to make Wolf of Wall Street his follow-up project instead (much to the chagrin of his investors).

Scorsese is apparently auditioning actors and looking to finally begin production on Silence in mid-2014, after the release (and presumably awards campaign) of Wolf of Wall Street this fall.  Silenceisn’t the only project that Scorsese is actively developing to direct, though, and there was recently some forward movement on the mob drama The Irishman.  Hit the jump for more details.

In addition to Silence, a Frank Sinatrabiopic, and a handful of other projects, Scorsese has also had his eye on directing an adaptation of the Charles Brandt book I Heard You Paint Housesfor quite a while.  The book chronicles the life of mob hitman Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran, who supposedly murdered Jimmy Hoffa.  Robert De Niro has long been attached to star in the film adaptation, The Irishman, with Joe Pesciand Al Pacino rumored to be involved, and Deadline reports that Scorsese recently held a reading of the Steven Zaillian script with De Niro, Pesci, and Pacino all in attendance.

Apparently Scorsese likes to hold these script readings in order “to make sure the picture is making proper progress.”  Paramount is onboard to produce the film, but other financiers were also in attendance at the reading who are looking to possibly invest in the film.  With Silence not getting underway until mid-2014, though, it sounds like the earliest we could see The Irishman going into production is sometime in 2015, likely in the latter half.  With this kind of pedigree, I’m inclined to believe the film will be well worth the wait.
