Irgendwann zu Jahresbeginn sagte Gerhard als Termin "summer 2014".

 

Habe gestern die Episode "Impulse" gesehen. Muss mit das Beste sein, was McCarthy für das Franchise komponiert hat!

Nach längerer Zeit mal wieder Clues von Intrada:

 

 

One release is our third time around. It's one of my favorites and has been out of print so long that it deserves a new life. It adds a few alternates and restores some silences. That last part may be cryptic but will make sense when you see the announcement.

The other is a recent horror score by one of our favorite B composers.

Die Drittauflage dürfte als Goldsmiths Night Crossing feststehen. Das letzte Mal kam der Score 1994 raus.

Die Alternates sollten dann aber schon saftig sein, damit ich das Ding zum dritten Mal kaufe. Ein Poster auf dem Intrada-Board giert schon nach remasteredBlablala, dabei war der Sound der letzten Ausgabe völlig in Ordnung.

Silences: habe vom Film zwar nichts in Erinnerung, aber könnte es sich um eine Generalpause hier und da handeln?

The first is one of the most famous and iconic scores from the sixties, Oscar winning, and although repeatedly issued on LP and CD, it was always a re-recording. The original tracks – and the complete score – will see the light of day here for the first time! Stay tuned, because it is top-notch – a truly grand release!

The other pairs two scores of the great maestro Ennio Morricone on one CD – a double “sacred and profane” program. One of the scores expands the program issued on an old and hard-to-find edition. The other is one of the most famous and romantic Morricone scores, and has been released several times, especially in some expensive Japanese releases… but this time the audio has been much improved

Was ist eigentlich aus der Ankündigung zu Intradas "Conan the Destroyer" geworden?

Habe nie mehr was darüber gehört. Wurde das Ding gecancelled?

Mich interessiert der Sixties-Score. Was könnte das wohl sein? Ich weiß jetzt nicht, welcher Titel bisher nur als Neueinspielung erhältlich war? Ist es Exodus? Lawrence von Arabien? Doktor Schiwago? Frei geboren? Der Löwe im Winter? Hmmm.....

Quartet Records gab auf Facebook den Hinweis, das der Song den Oscar bekam, score nur nominiert. Da haben fleißige interessierte 1+1 addiert und Thomas Crown kam bei raus...

Was THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR angeht: Der Berg kreisste wieder einmal nur eine Maus für mich. Ganz grosse Worte und Versprechungen, am Ende wird es ein Score, den ich wirklich sehr lieb habe, aber weder erweitert noch im Film-Original brauche.

bei varese wird es demnächst eine neuauflage von bill contis filmmusik zum film Lock Up geben. der soundtrack wird auf 1500 stück limitiert sein

Und von Kritzerland kommt Tiomkins "It's a Wonderful Life"

 

 

Well, I'll just say this about that: One of the most beloved films in the history of cinema getting its first release of the original score tracks - I'd say that would be a rather momentously momentous occasion that would cause me and many others to dance a jig.

 

First of all, the Telarc recording features pretty much all of the Tiomkin - I think we have more, though. And we have fun bonus tracks. No matter what's been said, this, like A Place in the Sun, was not releasable prior to this and it was a mountain of work to get it releasable. There were two hours or more on these acetates, mostly aborted takes, partial takes and cues in pieces, which all had to be sorted out. While some of the acetates sounded okay, several didn't. But thanks to the amazing work of Chris Malone, it's all sorted out and most of it sounding beyond amazing - there are just a handful of cues that have a little acetate noise that had to stay so that we didn't compromise the music itself. But the majority sounds spectacular. None of this would have been doable even two years ago.

 

Somewhere just under fifty minutes.

Hmmm, ein guilty pleasure-Goldsmith. Ich bin sehr gespannt, wie da das Tracklisting aussieht...

Also was ich mal von den Recording sessions erspähen durfte ist das ein Riesenschlachtplatte aus kurzen Bumpern und Suspensetracks. Was hauptsächlich fehlt sind knackige Variationen und Alternates des Calypso-Heldenthemas, das auf der CD nur in LEILA'S GONE und am Anfang von HANG ON kurz auftaucht.

Passend zum 30-jährigen Jubiläum von Ghostbusters wird es wohl eine Neuauflage des Scores geben (plus eine Erstveröffentlichung von GHOSTBUSTERS 2 von Randy Edelman):

I would bet good money another release of Ghostbusters and a debut release of Ghostbusters 2 happening this year to coincide with their respective anniversaries

Hiess es nicht auch hier, dass es von Edelmans Score keine Mastertapes mehr gibt? Ob die Scores dann zusammen als Doppel-CD erscheinen oder einzeln, aber zum gleichen Zeitpunkt? Gegen eine Veröffentlichung der Musik der Zeichentrickserie hätte ich auch nichts.
