There and Back Again

Doug Adams’ long-awaited The Music of the Lord of the Rings Films book will be released in the European Union on Sept. 28, and in the U.S. and worldwide on Oct. 5, 2010. The 416-page full-color book takes an unprecedented look at Howard Shore’s Academy Award-winning scores, with extensive music examples, original manuscripts, a rarities CD with 21 tracks of unreleased music, and glimpses into the creative process from the composer himself. Book signings and Q&As with Howard and Doug will take place on Sept. 27 at Chappell of Bond Street (152-160 Wardour St. London, U.K.) and Oct. 7 at Barnes and Noble (1972 Broadway, New York, NY). The book release is scheduled around live performances to film of The Return of the King at Royal Albert Hall on Sept. 28-29 and The Two Towers at Radio City Music Hall on Oct. 8-9.
