Tune in to a new edition of On the Score at Film Music Magazine, as IRON MAN composer Ramin Djawadi gives a revealing looking into the musical creation of the blockbuster red-and-gold Avenger. Djawadi talks about his career's birth under the auspicies of Hans Zimmer, finding a voice in his solo work on such scores as MR. BROOKS, and his continuing musical saga for tv's hit PRISON BREAK. It's the kind of in-depth interview that you'll only find at On the Score.

Bruce Broughton is a great composer. His scores include some legendary fan favorites, from Young Sherlock Holmes and Silverado to Tombstone and The Boy Who Could Fly. He wins Emmy Awards like crazyhis house is filled with themmost recently for his work on HBOs acclaimed FDR biopic Warm Springs. Fans may be clamoring for a return to the Bruce Broughton feature film score; but, Bruce seems perfectly comfortable where he is. And in this case, that place was in his back yard, generously taking an afternoon to talk to us about, well, tons of stuff. So much we got a three-issue video interview series out of it. Christopher Gunning is a multi award-winning composer for TV and film who is perhaps best known for his evocative theme to the international TV hit, Agatha Christie's Poirot. Other scores include Middlemarch, Cold Lazarus, Porterhouse Blue and Wild Africa as well as the successful Martini TV commercial campaign which ran for 30 years. This year, Gunning won a Bafta for his work on the movie La Vie en Rose, the biopic about Edith Piaf, and Gunning talks in detail about writing the underscore and re-recording the classic Piaf songs.

Recorded backstage before a Filmharmonic concert at London's Royal Albert Hall (battling against the loud air-con!).

Paul Grabowsky, the Australian pianist and composer, talks to Tommy Pearson about his multi-faceted career. Grabowsky is perhaps best known for his work in jazz and alongside his successful career as jazz soloist and collaborator he has also worked in television (in music and as an executive) and film and has recently been appointed artistic director of the Adelaide Festival of Arts. In this interview, Grabowsky talks about how jazz came into his life, how he started in film and television music, his work as a session player for Jerry Goldsmith and eventually stepping into Goldsmith's shoes as the regular composer for old friend, director Fred Schepisi (Last Orders, Empire Falls). He also talks about working on the Michael Caine boxing drama, Shiner and outlines the Australian film industry and its composers. [Length : 40 mins / May 2008]

klingt ja sehr interessant.ich wär aber überrascht wenn es dann doch ein besserer score ist als Begins (der im film hervorragend funktioniert, auf cd aber langweilt)
